A signed 3rd edition of Edgar Lee Master's "The New Spoon River". Similar to his famous "Spoon River Anthology", a series of 'auto-epitaphs' or monologues in free verse, which often contradicted the pious and optimistic epitaphs written on the gravestones.

New York: Boni & Liveright, printed 1924. 3rd Edition. Hardcover 8vo. Flagsigned on title page "Edgar Lee Masters - March 24 (29?) 1927". Black cover with gilt image and signature on front cover. Front and bottom pages rough cut. Corners slightly bumped. Light / faded blue title on spine. Spine slightly sunned. Title page (signed page) is torn at spine 1-1/2" up from bottom (not really noticeable as it is along the spine).
